Reviewer: Magdalena Swanson Apex1 is a TF candidate. It interacts with transcription factors in coimmunoprecipitation studies. It also aids Jun in binding AP-1 DNA elements in EMSA studies, although Apex1 does not bind these elements itself. SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis shows that recombinant human Ref-1 promotes recombinant human p53 tetramer formation in vitro. There is no evidence that Apex1 activates transcription directly. |
